By accessing or using note.md, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions of this agreement, then you may not access the website or use any services.
Our service is designed to provide a minimalist, Digital Gallery experience for your writing. These terms are here to ensure that both our platform and your creative work remain protected and respected.
Local-First Philosophy
note.md operates on a local-first architecture. This means your data is primarily stored on your device. While we may provide synchronization services, the privacy and integrity of your local database remain under your control.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.
The application offers a paid tier (“note.md Premium”) that provides access to additional features, including but not limited to local AI-powered functionality such as automatic source indexing and semantic search (the “Premium Services”). Access to Premium Services is granted only for the duration of an active subscription or valid purchase.

All prices may vary by region and applicable taxes and are displayed within the app at the time of purchase.
All payments are processed through Apple's in-app purchase system. By purchasing a subscription or lifetime access, you agree to Apple's applicable payment terms. The Company does not process payments directly and does not have access to your full payment details.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually, as applicable) unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Subscriptions may be managed and canceled by the user through their Apple ID account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel an active subscription. Upon cancellation, access to Premium Services will continue until the end of the current billing period.
The lifetime purchase grants access to Premium Services for the lifetime of the application. “Lifetime” refers to the period during which the application and its Premium Services are actively maintained and made available by the Company. The Company reserves the right to modify or discontinue features as described in Section 8.
Student pricing is offered at the Company's discretion and may require verification. The Company reserves the right to revoke discounted access if eligibility requirements are not met or are no longer satisfied.
The Company reserves the right to modify subscription pricing, introduce new plans, or change the features included in Premium Services at any time. Any pricing changes will apply only to future billing periods and will be communicated in advance where required by applicable law.
All purchases are final. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with its policies. The Company does not issue refunds directly.
By purchasing and immediately accessing digital Premium Services, you expressly consent to the performance of the contract beginning before the expiration of the withdrawal period and acknowledge that you thereby lose your statutory right of withdrawal, where applicable.
Premium Services, including local AI features, are provided “as is” and may depend on device capabilities. The Company does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that all features will function on all devices.
The Company reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to Premium Services in cases of abuse, violation of these Terms, or unlawful use of the application.
Your Content stays Your Content.
We claim no intellectual property rights over the material you provide to the service. Your profile and materials uploaded remain yours. You can export your notes at any time in standard Markdown format.
The note.md brand, logo, and the specific UI design (the Digital Gallery aesthetic) are the exclusive property of note.md and are protected by copyright and trademark laws.
In addition to other prohibitions as set forth in the Terms of Service, you are prohibited from using the site or its content:
In no case shall note.md, our directors, officers, employees, or affiliates be liable for any injury, loss, claim, or any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages of any kind.
This includes, without limitation, lost profits, lost revenue, lost savings, loss of data, replacement costs, or any similar damages, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, arising from your use of any of the service.
